3. School Policies and Regulations:

  1. Attendance Policy
    1. 75% attendance is mandatory  for the students to appear for exams/ get promoted to the next higher class.
    2. Parents  are advised to visit class teacher of their ward  and subject teachers periodically to keep track of their attendance and performance.
    3.  Student should not remain absent without prior permission for more than 3 days consecutive day.

  •  The new education policy focuses on the child’s overall development .Keeping these changes in mind and as per the guidelines of NEP 2020 , DAV ACC Public School Kymore gives a maximum exposure to students in developing competencies and opportunities are provided to students to acquire knowledge to face a real life situations. Now there is a Paradigm shift from ‘content-based’ assessment to ‘competency-based’ assessment as well as emphasis is on continuous assessment of overall growth and development.
  • SCHEME OF ASSESSMENT CLASS LKG-II
  •     1st Assessment– April to August ’2024
  •     2nd Assessment-September to December ’2024
  •     3rd Assessment-January-March’ 2025
  • The cumulative  progress card shows development of the child in different areas with remarks like: Always, Usually, Some time and Needs attention.
  •  SCHEME OF ASSESSMENT CLASS 3 TO 7 
  •  For classes 3 to 7 there will be two terms in an academic year.
  •  Term 1 : (6 months) April to September
  •  Term 2 : (6 months) October to March
  •   In various classes, the syllabus will be as per the following  scheme:

  • Assessment will be done in two ways and will carry the bellow-mentioned weightage in each term :
  • • PENPAPER TEST (P. P. T.) - 70%
  • • INTERNAL ASSESSMENT (I.A.) - 30%
  • There will be two pen  paper tests in each term.
  • • Term 1 -  Periodic Tes t 1

  •                    Periodic Test 4 / Annual Exam (Note: PT 2 & 4 may be longer duration and  more marks  than PT 1 & 3 depending upon the school's discretion)

  • TYPOLOGY OF QUESTIONS:
  •  Very Short Answer type Questions(VSA), Short Answer Type (SA), Long Answer Type (LA), Case Study Based Questions, Lower Order thinking skills (LOTs) and Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTs).
  •  Internal Assessment (30 marks) is based on the core competencies in all activities and projects to secure marks in Internal Assessment .

6. School Facilities:

  • Library: Books are the most efficient companions of human being. For the enhancement of academic performance and literary skills  , school has well equipped library with plethora of resources which can be  accessible by  students during the school hours. Students desirous of using school library need to abide by the library rules .

Schools library rules

  • Books will be issued to the students during the library period or in the free period of the Librarian.
  • Marking,underlining, writing or deforming library books is strictly forbidden.
  • Books issued on student’s names should be kept with great care and safety.
  • In no case the book will be taken back in the library in torn and damaged condition.
  • Maximum two books will be issued to a student on his/her name at one time and a new book will be issued only after returning of the previous one.
  • Books should not be retained for more than 10 days by a student.
  • If the book/books will be retained after the due date a fine of Rs 1( One) per day will be charged from a student.
  • In case a book is misused, wrongly handled or lost, the person concerned will  have to replace the book or pay the full price of the book.
  • All the books should be deposited in the library on the last working day of the academic session.
  • Students should arrange chairs, switch off the fans and lights before leaving the library.
  • Students should maintain absolute silence in the library.
  • The librarian may ask for a book at any time even if the normal period of  borrowing has not elapsed.
  • At the end of the loan period books borrowed must be either returned or renewed. A book may only be renewed once and provided that no other reader has requested it.
  • Noise,disturbance or unruly behaviour is forbidden in any part of the library.
  • Students are not allowed to bring their personal belongings in the library; they should leave them at the entrance of the library.
  • Membership card is not transferable.
  • When books are issued, students should check the pages of the issued books and if the pages are found missing they should report the same to the librarian before leaving the counter. On returning the book if pages are found missing then the last borrower of the book shall be held accountable for the missing pages and shall be fined accordingly.

8. Code of Conduct:

      Code of conduct (for students)

  1.  Students must converse in only in English language at least in the school premises.
  2.  They must be attentive, punctual,obedient,humble,regular and disciplined in the school.
  3.  They must wear neat and clean,  well ironed and proper uniform everyday with proper haircut.
  4.  Usage of abusive language and slangs must be discouraged else strict action will be taken if the same is continued.
  5.  Bullying / Cyber bullying is a punishable offence and students indulging in these acts will be suspended.
  6.  They  should carry their school diary to the school everyday.
  7.  To ensure safety, sharp objects like blade, knife, scissors, needle should not be brought to school.
  8.  Shouting, whistling and running in the corridors are strictly prohibited.
  9.  Expensive things like gold ornaments, watches etc. are not allowed in the school.
  10.  Students must refrain from damaging any form of school property. The school reserves the right to  impose a fine  for any such damage.
  11.  Students must move in a line towards their left while moving in the corridor, going for  games,  library,  practicals or music classes.
  12.  Money should not be brought without any specific written notice issued from the school.
  13.  75% attendance is mandatory  for the students to appear for exams/ get promoted to the next higher class.
  14.  Students should adhere to the truth at any cost.
  15.  Students should bring their lunch ,napkin and handkerchief daily while coming to school.
  16.  Student should not remain absent without prior permission for more than 3 days consecutive days.
  17.  Bringing cameras, cell phones, smart watches electronic audio and video items iPod, Fireworks are strictly prohibited. If any student is caught with any of these items,  the item will be confiscated and will not be returned for the entire session.
  18.  No child can leave the school premises during school hours without the written permission of the principal,  which may be granted under exceptional circumstances based on written request of parents.
  19.  Students are encouraged to participate actively in all the activities of the school.
  20.  Students must report to school 10 minutes before the school starts. Late comers will not be entertained.
  21.  Littering in classroom and school premises will be strictly dealt with.Students should make use of the dustbins provided for throwing bits of paper etc. they are expected to keep the school campus neat and clean.
  22.  Students who do not follow school rules and are indisciplined may be discontinued from the school if repeated complaints are received.
  23.  Students should complete their class work, homework,project work and all academic work on time as expected.

 

Guidelines for Parents

  1. Read the contents of the Almanac carefully and abide by the rules laid down by school authorities.
  2. Parents /Guardian are advised not to allow their wards to come to school by bikes or scooters without a driving licence and helmet. School will not be held responsible for damage or loss caused due to the driving of immature students. Students should strictly follow the norms of RTO.
  3. Parents are not supposed to enter the classroom in any circumstances  to meet the    teachers during the school without prior intimation or permission of the concerned authority.
  4. Parents should ensure that their wards prepare the lessons well and do their homework regularly.
  5. Parents must inform the concerned class teacher in writing for any case of absenteeism of their awards. They should avoid taking their ward back from school during school hours on silly grounds.
  6. Parents  are advised to visit class teacher of their ward  and subject teachers periodically to keep track of their attendance and performance.
  7. Ensure that your ward carries text books/exercise books according to the time-table.
  8. Regularly check the teacher's remarks in your ward's diary class work/ homework exercise books.
  9. You are requested not to send sick children to school, under any circumstances, especially if the illness is contagious.
  10. Please ensure that your ward does not bring any valuable article to school. The school is not liable to pay or compensate for any loss.
  11. Any change of residential/office address and telephone numbers must be communicated immediately to the school office in writing in the proper format.
  12. Depending upon the needs of weak students, the school may organize remedial classes beyond the school hours. The parents’ cooperation will be appreciated.
  13. Parents- teacher meeting   will be held every  second Saturday  in order to provide feedback about the students' performance. Parents must avoid sending relatives to attend the meetings. They must attend the meetings to enquire about the progress of their award.
  14. Parents are  expected to avoid using foul language against the school system and teachers.
  15. Students who come to school under the care of attendants should not leave the school before the attendants arrive. In case of delay they should report to the school office.
  16. Students must not call friends or relatives inside the school premises. Only parents are allowed to deal with matters related to  students.
  17. Important messages are communicated well in advance through students or through remarks of class teachers in the diary or through SMS. Students will be responsible for any misinterpretation of any rule of keeping the parents in the dark about the remarks given by the authority of the school.
  18. Students will not be permitted to leave the classroom after every period for using washrooms. Students with some medical problems will be allowed  after showing medical proof to the school.
  19. Any notice, instruction or circular sent in the school diary should be acknowledged by the parents by fixing their signature.
  20. Parents must read the content of the school diary to get familiar with the school system.
  21. Taking leave during working days is strongly discouraged. Parents are responsible to make up for the loss of studies in case of leave taken. The school will expect these students to be at par with the class in every way and that will have to be ensured by the parents.
  22. Parents to ensure that their wards attend school in neat and well ironed, complete uniform. Boys with short and decent hair cut (not in fashionable or military cut) and girls with two plaits or single pony( in case of very short hair) as the case may be. In case of non-compliance, the school reserves the right to take any kind of disciplinary action.
  23. Electronic gadgets (mobiles, i-pods, play-stations, audio / video players, cameras etc) are not permitted inside the school premises as per CBSE school rules. If found, the articles will be confiscated for at least a fortnight. If such instances are repeated, then the child will be asked to leave the school.
  24. Possession and consumption of alcohol, cigarette, tobacco products and any other form of intoxicating / illegal substance is strictly prohibited and will invite expulsion from school with immediate effect.
